Wow! What a great first day. I love my class.

Focus on:

Reading: As you read with your child ask them to predict what they think will come next in the book. If your child was the author, how would they write the story? What would they write?

Math: Today we learned that we are mathematicians. This week (Wed. – Fri.) we will be working on place value to the thousands. Big concept!

Example: 1000+300+50+7=1357. It would be a big help if you could talk about what the words thousands, hundreds, tens, and ones are.

Please read with your child nightly. Make it fun.

 Math:

Your child will be bringing home math homework this Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.  Each homework page has 6 problems on it and we will have covered the topic on the day the homework goes home. I encourage you to work on the homework together. The purpose for the homework is to increase understanding. The homework is due the next day.
